Rita Gaviola was born on May 13, 2003, Her hometown is Lucena City, Quezon, Philipines. Her family status was not so good, She has 5 other siblings. Rita was 1st discovered by photographer Topher Quinto Burgo. During his one event at the Pahiyas Festival in Lucban in May 2016. Burgo spotted her a tiny girl was moving with her innocent face when she’s 13 years old. After that event when he published that photo it went viral and Rita Gaviola becomes famous.

Badjao Girl:

The Badjao Tribe is an indigenous population who’s also known as Sea Gypsies. Badjao means Man of Seas. Basically, they move with the wind and tide of the seas with their Vintas (small boats). That’s why people also named Rita Gaviola as Badjao Girl.

How Social Media Changed Badjao Girl-Rita Gaviola ‘s Life:

Rita Gaviola’s family was poor. Her father Danny worked as a garbageman and her mother Marita was a housewife. She had 5 siblings, so her family was not in that condition to raise them with proper education and with good meals. Poverty let her in the streets of Lucena City of Quezon, where she tried to earn some money by begging.

No one knows what is going to happen with them within a few moments. One day she was moving on the streets back in 2016 and Photographer Topher Quinto Burgo discovered a little girl with natural beauty with torn dresses moving in front of his camera lens. He immediately started capturing her photos. Later when he published those photos it went viral.

Suddenly her fate bring the change that she never thought. A lot of companies started calling her for starting modeling for their products. That’s the moment that brings her into social media and now she’s most popular on the internet.

Later she has participated international reality show Pinoy Big Brother, Season 7. From there till now her fan followers are increasing fast. She has 194K followers on her Insta profile named itsritagaviola

The eye’s on the Miss Universe?

Miss Universe is a big dream for a lot of girls. They want to participate to show their talent with beauty. Only one can get the name and fame. The Philippines doesn’t name their next Miss Philipines for the competition, but on 22 September 2021 Rita posted a photo with a Crown on her Insta with the caption Beauty is not flawless it shines even though your flaws, Miss universe soon
