Bangladesh is moving fast to digitalized its all facilities. As we know without driving license we can’t drive our vehicles and traffic police can fined us for not carrying it. Recently BRTA approves to carry E-License on smartphones instead of smart driving license card.
BRTA Smart Services:
Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) is improving their services to reduce procedures and to provide a hassle free smart services for its beneficiaries. As we all know that if you want to take any services from BRTA we need to go BRTA regional/district office physically to obtained the facilities. Now BRTA is providing its services though their web portal by digitalization. From now we all can take our services by creating/opening our account from their BSP web portal
E-License on smartphone:
On 24 March 2024 BRTA has circulated a notice by Md. Monirul Islam, Deputy Secretary that from now anyone who’ve their E-License can carry it on their mobile and it can be check and verified through BSP Web Portal by any traffic surgent. All E-License has a QR Code which can be validated with the service portal. Thant means we don’t need to carry a printed Driving License (DL) with us. If you’ve a smartphone you can carry your digital/ E-License with you. Traffic surgent can’t fined for it if it is real and have the validity.
E-License Facilities:
Through E-License we can avail few government facilities like Visa Processing, Job Preference and we can also use it on abroad as well. On every E-Driving License there is a QR Code which can be scanned and verified through BSP web portal. From now anyone can carry both printed or digital driving license.
Conclusion:
Our government is trying to provide all facilities which can be access through online. These initiatives will reduce our hassle on carrying smart cards or having fake DL. I do appreciate this and I’ve been carrying my E-License since December-2023 though it has passed the bill by the Government this March.
